Journal 4 - Traveling
I have not done too much traveling in my day. Before I was born, my parents would travel all over the country with my siblings. Then I was born and it was like the whole world became boring. I have been to Yellowstone Park, but I was like three years old when I went there so I have no clue what it was like. My paren's idea of vacation now is RAGBRAI. RAGBRAI is short for Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. So for my summer vacation I spend a whole week riding a bike and camping outside in ninety to one hundred degree weather. What a great traveling. I do enjoy it thoroughly however because biking is my favorite thing to do. It is my favorite sport and my dream is to be a professional bike rider and ride on Le Tour do France. So this week long bike ride is kind of viewed as a "training" time for this goal. So the week starts out on Saturday night. Twenty thousand people gather in a city and just hang out. It starts on the West side of Iowa and you ride to the East side. From the Missouri to the Mississippi is the ride. It is basically a week long party for people who are over twenty one. Every night you stay in a big-ish town and then have all of these festivities for the riders to do. There is a beer garden and this is where the parties happen. I usually spend my nights standing outside of the beer garden listening to the band, swimming, and chasing girls. These are what my traveling times are. They are very fun and I do actually enjoy them. I do, however, wish that I could go on an actual vacation to somewhere cool like Europe. Hopefully I can go see my old foreign exchange student, Bene. I would enjoy that very much if that happened. It would be my very first real traveling experience!
