Journal 10 - Religion versus Science - The Ultimate Showdown

One thing that has been constantly brought back up in conversations is whether God exists or not. I have been in so many conversations about God and atheism I have lost count (not that I was keeping count in the first place). It is one of the wonders of the world whether God does actually exist or not. In my opinion it is one's choosing whether God exists or not. I do believe there is a God and he is working constantly trying to make this world the best it can be. In many other people's beliefs there is no God. These people are usually educated very well and know too many things that "prove" God does not exist. . My brother is one of these people. He went to Notre Dame and had some bad experiences with education. He was stressed too many times and ended up just losing faith. One of the smartest people I know, my old cross country coach, is one of the most faithful in God people I know. I had a conversation about my recent sleeping troubles and he gave me hints of praying before I sleep. He is an anesthesiologist and went to the University of Illinois and then Washington University for his doctor degree. He is always full of knowledge and you would think he would be an atheist but no, he is one of the strongest Christians I know. I do not like discussing my beliefs to the public so I will not do that. People become too obsessed over things that I believe in and it causes riots. Things like that can cause catastrophes all over the world because I have such a strong following. I am pretty sure the whole world watches every single little thing I do and then they try to be exactly like me which usually does not work because no one, I repeat no one is like me but me.
