Journal 5 - Punishment

Many parents today are beginning to ground their children and are becoming more strict with their children. I do not have much experience of being disciplined because, I am just going to be straight with you, I am basically the perfect child. My parents never have to yell at me or anything because I have never done anything long. I have the same thing that Jim Carey had in the movie Liar Liar. My young son once made a wish at his birthday party that I could not lie, only instead of having it be for only day, it is like that for life. So if I ever did do something wrong, my parents could just ask me if I did something wrong, and I would have to tell them what I did. But instead I can not lie and I am the perfect child.

Let us just say that for once my parents did have to punish me for some reason, or let us just say I have grown up and now have my children, whom are all meddlesome kids. I will eventually have to punish them. If I was a parent in this day and age I would punish my kids by taking away all of their privileges. If I really wanted to get to my kid and make sure they did not ever do this wrong thing again I would make sure they got the point that I did not like that. I would take away computer, television, phone, driving, and having fun with friends privileges. They would be absolutely miserable for the duration of their punishment to assure that they would never do that wrong again. If I did all of these things and made sure that right after school they come home and do not do anything but homework and read for their last seven hours of the day, they would be miserable and would never want to do anything again. I might let them go outside, but only close to the house.
